Diego Maradona started his reign as Argentina coach with a 1-0 victor over Scotland on Wednesday at the Hampden Park, Scotland. The football legend has been appointed as the new coach of Argentina recently and the friendly match against Scotland was his first assignment as the coach of national team. Though Argentina won the match thanks to Maxi Rodrigez’s strike after 8 minutes, it was not a convincing win for Argentina. However, I think, Argentina fans are now happy to see their ‘Football GOD’ starting his campaign with a victory.
The interesting thing is that Maradona scored his first international goal against Scotland at the same ground way back in 1979 in a 3-1 victory for Argentina. After the final whistle, Maradona looked happy as he hugged the entire team before walking off the ground. Deigo Maradona gave a lot to Argentine football as well as international football in his playing career. Now, let us see if Diego Maradona can continue showing his magic as a coach.
