Chelsea Midfielder Michael Ballack Eyeing on Winning Silverware

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack now wants to win silverware with Chelsea. German captain Ballack failed to lift Euro 2008 trophy as Germany was beaten by Champion Spain in the final of the tournament. Moreover, Ballack could not win any titles with Chelsea last season. Chelsea lost to Manchester United in UEFA Champions League final on penalties last season and was defeated by Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup final last season. So, Ballack had experience of reaching very closure to a number of titles in the last one year, but ended up winning nothing.

Sky Sports reported:

He said: "I didn't just think about Moscow in the summer, I lost another final as well.

"You always think about football, I think about it all the time. If you lose two finals in four weeks, of course I'm going to think back.

"It's also good that you have a new season, new targets and a big motivation this season. We have a big squad and lots of competition so that is good in football."

He added: "Nothing has changed for me, I always wanted to win something. I had a big injury last season and had to come back in the middle of the season.

Michael Ballack could not win any title for his country yet, but won a number of domestic titles with his former club Bayern Munich in Germany. Ballack has just retunred after recovering from ankle injury, but the German international lacks match fitness. However, he is expected to be in the starting line up for the Carling Cup third round match against Portsmouth on Wednesday. Now, let us see if Michael Ballack can get his form back and help Chelsea win silverware this season.
