After signing Swiss defender Philipp Degen, Liverpool club has recently signed another defender, Andrea Dossena from Serie A club Udinese. Andrea Dossena will fill up the gap of Norwegian John Arne Riise who moved to AS Roma at the end of the previous season. However, the transfer fee has not been disclosed yet but the likely amount seems to be around £7 million pounds ($14.5 million). The other defender Philipp Degen has joined Liverpool from German club Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. Both the defenders joined Anfield on a four-year deal.
Liverpool could not win any title last season and their performance was not inconsistent throughout the season. So, this year, the Liverpool fans are expecting something special from the Red Devils. Now, let us see if Liverpool can live up to the expectation of the fans next season and to what extent these two defenders will be able to contribute to the club’s success.
