Chelsea Offers Frank Lampard Record-breaking £150,000-a-week Deal

Chelsea officials are trying heart and soul to keep midfielder Frank Lampard at the Stamford Bridge for the rest of his career. The English midfielder has been linked with a move to Italian club Inter Milan in what he could meet former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. However, Chelsea has recently offered a £150,000-a-week deal for Lampard for five years.

Inter Milan manager Mourinho did not keep anything private regarding his desire to sign Lampard. However, Inter’s £7.95 million bid has already been rejected by Chelsea. According to sources, Chelsea is trying to persuade Frank Lampard to sign on a new deal under which he could spend the rest of his career at Chelsea. Moreover, if Lampard puts pen to paper on the proposed £150,000-a-week deal, he will be the highest paid European footballer. Frank Lampard joined Chelsea on a £11 million transfer fee from West Ham United in 2001.

In his seven year spell at Chelsea, Lampard appeared in 247 domestic matches for Chelsea so far. He has a year left on his current contract with Chelsea. Now, let us see if Frank Lampard finds the new Chelsea offer attractive enough to remain at Stamford Bridge for a longer term.
