India and Pakistan are going to face each other in an important group stage match of Kitply Cup at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on 10th June 2008. Pakistan defeated host Bangladesh convincingly by 70 runs in the first match of the tournament. So, a victory for Pakistan tomorrow would ensure them a sport in the final. Openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have been excellent in IPL. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh are the two main strengths of Indian middle order. RP Singh is expected to lead pace attack, while Piyush Chawla will lead their spin attack. Indian squad includes two all rounders: Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan.
Pakistan did not face any problem to outclass Bangladesh in the first match, though it is true that the match against India would not be that much easy. Opener Salman Butt played an excellent innings of 70 runs, while his opening partner wicket keeper Kamran Akmal scored 25 runs before getting out. Mohammad Yousuf continued with his well played 59 runs. Later on Misbah-ul-Haq played a quick fire innings of 39 off 22 balls. Despite the absence of pacer Asif, Umar Gul and Wahib Riaz played well not to let Asif’s presence being felt. Shahid Afridi was up to the mark with his leg spin against Bangladesh in the first match.
Both teams have taken this tournament seriously ahead of the Asia Cup 2008. Asia Cup 2008 is due to start in Pakistan later this month.

Batting is the main strength of Indian team, while pace attack is their main strength even though they are not getting the service of their ace pacer Asif. The wicket of the Shere Bangla National Stadium might be spin friendly, and rain could be a factor in the match as raining is common-a-matter in Bangladesh at this time of the year and in almost every evening it is raining in Dhaka now. Even the first match of the tournament was shorted due to this problem. We hope there will be no such problem tomorrow.
