India vs Pakistan match is always something special for the cricket match and if it is a final of a tournament, it becomes like more than just a cricket match. India and Pakistan played against each other 110 times in ODI matches, with Pakistan has better success winning on 66 occasions, while India won 44 matches. The other nine matches were ended without any result or tie or were cancelled. The two arch rivals faced each other in seven ODI tournament finals in which Pakistan won on five occasions, while India won twice against Pakistan in ODI tournament final.

India defeated Pakistan by 140 runs in the group encounter, and now Pakistan has got to take a revenge of this in the final. However, considering the recent form of Indian team, it is pretty clear that India is favorite for the match. However, it is also true that Pakistan is a team which has a lot of reputation of bouncing back at the right time whenever big occasions come.

India vs Pakistan: Indian Eleven (Probable)

Gautam Gambhir
The left handed opener is not at his prime form with a number of inspirational performances both in this tournament and IPL. The left handed opener scored an excellent century against Bangladesh in just the previous match which is the only century so far in the tournament. I think, Gautam Gambhir will have a huge responsibility in the final and Indian fans will be looking to Gambhir for another match winning innings.

Virender Sehwag
Sehwag is another in form batsman of Indian batting line up. The hard hitter scored two back to back half centuries in the tournament including his match winning 89 against Pakistan in the group match. So, along with Gambhir, Indian team will expect another formidable opening stand from the two in from openers in the final match of Kitply Cup 2008 against Pakistan.

Rohit Sharma
This youngster has already shown his talent and skill in international cricket. Poised, calm and focused, the batsman can put up with a good resistance following any debacle in the top order. However, he failed to make his presence felt in the first two matches of the tournament. Now, ahead of the final, it is well-predicted he will be gearing up to come up with a match winning performance against Pakistan tomorrow.

Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj is perhaps the mains strength of Indian batting line up. The hard hitter middle order batsman contributed with 55 runs to India’s 140-run demolition against Pakistan in the group match. So, Pakistan bowlers will look to pick up his wicket as early as possible in the final match. Otherwise, he might just take the match away from Pakistan’s grip.

Yusuf Pathan
One of the stars of IPL, the batsman got his debut in this tournament in the first match of India against Pakistan. However, he could not make any impression in the match and then in the second match against Bangladesh he did not need to bat as India won the match by 7 wickets. He is known as a solid big hitter who can bring the match out of the oppositions with a stormy innings. Yusuf Pathan is more than a handy offbreak bowler. So, the all rounder could have contribute with his bowl as well as bat in the final match.

Suresh Raina
Raina is another star of IPL. The former U-19 player is an excellent middle order batsman with impressive fielding ability. He is such a player who can bat according to their condition of the match. Suresh Raina can rotate the score as well as can play big shots as well, by which he can be termed as a perfect middle order batsman. I think, Suresh Raina is another player, whom Pakistan would like to make out as early as possible.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Dhoni has already achieved a number of successes for India as captain and has received many applauds for his leading skill and responsible batting ability. He can go for big hits as well as can continue rotate the scoreboard, takings singles and doubles. So, I think, Dhoni also has a big role in the final match. Moreover, his recent flawless wicket keeping record would also boost up India’s confidence.

Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan increases the batting depth of the Indian side with his powerful shots and ability to score quick fire innings late in the innings. As a bowling all rounder, he is very effective to be brought in as a third pacer in the side.

Piyush Chawla
Chawla is expected to be the only specialist spinner in the side, along with the handy spinner Yusuf Pathan as well as the part timers: Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag. Piyush Chawla bowled very well in India’s victory over Pakistan in the group stage match, picking up four wickets in the match.

Praveen Kumar
Praveen Kumar has become one of the main strengths of Indian pace attack with his consistent performance. The bowler contributed a lot in India’s CB Series victory in Australia earlier this year and even in this tournament, he has been in his prime form. He broke down Pakistan’s top order picking up the wickets of four Pakistani batsmen in the group match. Now, Indian fans are eagerly waiting for another match winning spell from Praveen Kumar tomorrow in the final of Kitply Cup 2008 in the tournament.

Ishant Sharma
You may opt to give the new call to RP Singh who took three wickets against Bangladesh. However, I think, Ishant Sharma should be given the chance for the final match as he seems to be in much better form at this moment.

India vs Pakistan: Pakistan Eleven (Probable)

Salman Butt
Salman Butt is an excellent opener who can go for big hits and carry on the innings for playing a big innings. Though he failed against India, the opener played a blistering knock of 70 runs in the opening match against Bangladesh. Now, Pakistan cricket fans are eagerly waiting for another innings like that from Salman Butt tomorrow in the final match.

Kamran Akmal
The wicket keeper batsman has proven his worth as an opening batsman. Though his wicket keeping performance of late has been declined to some extent, he is becoming more and more matured as a batsman. Akmal put some runs to his credit in both the matches, but Pakistan team will definitely look to have a bigger innings from him in the final.

Younis Khan
Younis Khan has been is going through a rough patch at this moment. The middle order batsman got out without scoring any run in both the matches. So, he might be gearing up to come back in form on a big occasion. Pakistan cricket fans are also looking forward to it.

Mohammad Yousuf
Yousuf is perhaps the main strength of Pakistani middle order for a number of years now and has been pretty much consistent over the years. He started the tournament with an excellent half century against Bangladesh, but failed to do well against India. Now, getting India once again as opponent, he is for sure gearing up himself for playing a big innings tomorrow in the Kitply Cup 2008 final.

Misbah-ul-Haq
He is the star of Pakistan’s Twenty20 world cup. He is currently the vice captain of the side and has already proven his worth as a middle order batsman. He scored some runs in both the group stage matches, but Pakistan fans would not be satisfied with it, rather they are expecting a match winning innings from Misbah in the final.

Shoaib Malik
As a captain, he has not been flawless so far. However, the all rounder is doing his job pretty successfully. Despite the humiliated defeat to India, he may take inspirations from his side’s performance in the previous few months. Shoaib Malik played an excellent half century against India, while his fellow batsmen were busy with coming in and going back to the pavilion. Now, ahead of the final, he will definitely try his best to play another effective innings for Pakistan. Malik is also very important with his off spin as the current Pakistan side does not have any specialist spinner in this tournament.

Shahid Afridi
Afridi does not need any introduction. With his stormy batting, Afridi can be very much effective with this leg spin bowling in the match. Though Afridi’s batting form is not that much impressive in the tournament so far, his bowling performance is up to the mark. However, Pakistan will wish to get his batting service in the final along with his bowling performance in the final.

Sohail Tanvir
Sohail Tanvir has become one of the main pacers of Pakistan. Thanks to his superb performance in IPL, he is now considered as a very dangerous bowler. However, his performance in the tournament is quite impressive. So, it is expected that the bowler is now feeling the urge to perform well in the final. He is also very effective with his big hits down the order of Pakistan batting line up.

Umar Gul
Umar Gul has been in an impressive form in domestic cricket in Paksitan as well as IPL. In the absence of Shoaib Akhtar and Asif, Gul is given the new ball and he has been doing his job pretty consistently. So, he has a lot to contribute for Pakistan tomorrow.

Wahab Riaz
Riaz took two important wickets in the match against India, but conceded 86 runs. So, he has to be more focused in this regard. With his wicket taking ability, he could be very effective for Pakistan tomorrow in the Kitply Cup final.

Fawad Alam
Fawad Alam could be denied a place being replaced by pacer Iftikhar Anjum, but I think, playing an extra spinner, when the side does not have any specialist spinner, would be worthy enough for Pakistan in the match. Moreover, his inclusion would increase the batting depth of Pakistan batting line up. Iftikhar Anjum was not very impressive in the tournament.
