Arsenal Suffered another Slip up in Premier League

Arsenal goes on with their lackluster form in premier league. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa yesterday. With the draw Arsenal is still a the top of premier league with 64 points, but they have just a point ahead of Manchester United. Arsenal’s draw opened up a chance for Manchester United to narrow down the difference between themselves and Arsenal. Manchester United capitalized on the chance fully by outclassing Fulham 3-0 on the same day.

Arsenal went into the match with three points lead at the top. However, the lead was cut by Arsenal’s draw and Manchester United’s victory to one. Arsenal was not impressive in terms of their performance against Aston Villa and conceded an own goal by Philippe Senderos. Nicklas Bendtner earned Arsenal a point from the match with a late equalizer. His stoppage time goal must have given Wenger a big relief as Arsenal was just few seconds away from their first home defeat this season.

Arsenal will travel to San Siro to take on AC Milan in the mid week in their second leg match of last 16 round of Champions League. The first leg match was a goalless draw. Arsenal has been struggling on the pitch since their shocking 4-0 defeat at Manchester United in FA Cup. Arsenal drew all three matches they played so far since that match. Arsenal must need to be back in winning run soon as Manchester United is now just a point behind and any more slip up of Arsenal will open up a chance for Manchester United to climb over Arsenal in the league point table. Moreover, Arsenal must be back in their great form before they take on AC Milan in their Champions League match.
