Daniel Day-Lewis's There Will be Blood is the top favorite for Golden Bear Award

‘There will be blood’ Daniel Day-Lewis’s Oscar nominated movie is also rocking the Berlin Film Festival. So far the movie received eight Oscar Nominations. Daniel Day Lewis is very happy about the movie. Day-Lewis and director Paul Thomas Anderson was attending the premier ceremony of the movie in Athens. AFP reports:

"It was over a year before anyone would write a cheque for this movie," Day-Lewis told a news conference in Athens of the film, which has garnered eight Academy Award nominations.

"If we were lucky enough to get one of those things (an Oscar) there would be all kinds of people trying to write a cheque," noted Day-Lewis, whose towering performance as oilman Daniel Plainview has earned him his fourth Academy Award nomination for lead actor.

"The big problem would be that there would be people you wouldn't want to get cheques from," he jibed.

There will be Blood tells the story of Daniel Plainview, an oil businessman Daniel Plainview. The movie is also the top favorite contender for the prestigious Golden Bear award.

This year, 21 movies are competing in the Berlin Film Festival. So far, 11 out of 21 movies have been shown. The noticeable thing was that performance of individual actor had been appreciated in the movies. There will be Blood was highly praised by the viewers and critics.
