The final of Women’s singles of Australian Open 2008 is going to be held today. Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic are gearing up to win the first grand slam title of the year and are now taking their last minute preparation. Maria Sharapova, the fifth seed, made it to the final after clinching a superb victory over Jelena Jankovic in the semi final, while Ana Ivanovic came though a fighting match against Daniela Hantuchova in the semi final. The Serbian, Ana Ivanovic has been undergoing an improvement since last year when she reached her first grand slam final in French Open. Maria Sharapova got over her shoulder injury and has come back in the court as stronger a player she was in the past, as the Russian has outclassed her opponents in Australian Open 2008 in style so far.
