Elena Dementieva Reaches Second Round of Australian Open 2008

Elena Dementieva powered into the second round of Australian Open 2008 with an easy 6-2, 6-2 victory over Tzipora Obziler from Israel. The world no. 11 Dementieva did not face any big challenge from Obziler in the match. The Russian seemed very confident in the match. Dementieva was not in her great form last year. However, with the first round victory, she indicated that she could go a step further this time around.
