Death of Christopher Allport (Chris Allport)

Sometimes pleasure brings out accident in our life. As it was the case in TV actor Christopher Allport’s untimely death. The popular actor has been killed by a freak avalanches on Friday at the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles, The incident occurred near the Mountain High Ski area. The 60 year old veteran was successful in his 40 year long acting career. He was a popular television face with lots of successful dramas and TV shows under his belt.

Allport was reportedly the third person killed by the fierce snowstorms, heading towards Southern California, as it also took away two other lives. The other two victims of the avalanches are Michael McKay and Darin Bodie Coffey. Allport was a die-heart fan of skiing. The snowstorms has led to 3 feet or more (nearly 1 meter) of snow in the mountain areas.

GMA News reported:

Taking advantage of a lull in a week of storms, searchers on Saturday combed the area near the Mountain High ski resort in Wrightwood. Christopher Allport, 60, was found Saturday morning and was one of two people reported missing Friday after a trio of avalanches swept off-trail canyons.
When reached at his home, a family member confirmed Allport had died but declined to give her name and further comment.

A few years back in 2004, Christopher Allport wrote a story publish in Los Angles Times about the pleasures of backcountry skiing, where he asked for the skiers to be careful while skiing. He wrote:

"Any excursion into the mountains requires awareness," he wrote. "Have fun, but be careful."

The fate has turned the advice to him. Now, his advising towards the skiers has increased the pain of his family members, fans and well wishers. Avalanches are not common in the local mountains of Mountain High ski resort. So, it was the fate of Allport that led him to an untimely death.

The Press Associations reported:

Avalanches were "a freak occurrence" in the local mountains, said Pete Olson, president of Mt Baldy Ski Resorts. "We depend on snow-making, and snow-making doesn't lead to avalanches," he said. "It usually doesn't snow enough to make anything happen up here."

Christopher Allport presented many popular television series in his acting career. His fame as a good actor was widely recognized. He made his present felt in the several television shows including ''ER,'' ''Felicity,'' and ''Matlock.'' Allport acted several popular television drams including Man of Swing (1974), Dead and Buried (1981), television movie Special Bulletin (1983) etc.

Arbogastonfilm reported:

A busy character actor, Allport enjoyed an almost 40 year career, from the underrated missing girl drama MAN ON A SWING (1974) to the recently completed GARDEN PARTY (2008). Allport's genre credits include SAVAGE WEEKEND (1979), a memorable small role as a victim in DEAD AND BURIED (1981), in the disturbing nuclear incident TV movie SPECIAL BULLETIN (1983), Tobe Hooper's INVADERS FROM MARS (1986), JACK FROST (1996) and JACK FROST 2: REVENGE OF THE MUTANT KILLER SNOWMAN (2000).

There is no doubt; Christopher Allport was such an actor who will remain alive among the people, his fans. Many stars will appear in future; may be they will have more talent than what Allport had, but it is impossible to erase the works of Allports from the memory of people. I pray for the salvation of his departed soul.

can anyone tell me why this Sunday's episode of Brothe's and Sister's was dedicated to Mr Allport. Did he have a role on this drama? If so, what part did he play?

The man who battled a killer snowman in the Jack Frost movies... was killed by snow. Oh, the irony.
