The Super Eight round of Twenty20 world cup 2007 has been started on 16 September. Three matches have already been held and other exciting matches are still to be held. Eight teams have reached at the Super Eight round from the group stage. There will be two groups of four teams each. In the group stage there were four groups named as A, B, C and D. Now, in Super Eight the two groups are named as E and F. Each group includes four teams. All the teams in both groups will play against each other in a round robin league system. So, each team in Super Eight stage, will play three matches. Top two teams from each group will enter into the semi final round.

In Group E, the four teams are India, New Zealand, England and South Africa. All of them are regarded as cricket powers in the cricket world. So, the competition in this group is expected to be high and it is difficult to say which teams are going to play in the semi final stage from this group. On the other hand, Group F is comparatively easy where ICC world cup champion Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be playing each other. Australia vs Bangladesh match has already been over. Winning the match by 9 wickets, Australia started their Super Eight stage in style. Now, it is yet to see that if Bangladesh can cause any other upset in Super Eight round. Two other cricket powers- Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also favorites in the tournament. Sri Lanka is in excellent form in this tournament. So, it will be interesting to see Australia vs Sri Lanka Twenty20 match in Twenty20 world cup.
