Twenty20 World Cup: Australia Thrashes Bangladesh

Bangladesh is the surprise package in Super Eight stage of Twenty20 World Cup Cricket 2007. Bangladesh came in to the super eight stage as they defeated West Indies in the group stage. So, many fans of Bangladesh became happy and dreamt a lot about the success of their team in the on going Twenty20 World Cup. Well, today, their suffered a set back as Bangladesh lost to Australia badly in their first match of the super eight stage.

Bangladesh batted first and could score only 123/4 from their allotted 20 overs. Today, Bangladeshi batsmen perhaps were determined to bat as slow as possible. They were playing very carefully like a test match. Brett Lee was also determined to take wickets and he recorded the first hattrick of Twenty20 format of cricket. For Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal scored some valuable runs but the other batsmen could not play well.

123 runs was a small and easy target for Australia and Australian batsmen reached to the target with more than 6 overs and 8 wqickets to spare. So, you can easily understand that it was a one sided match. Matthew Hayden was the hero for Australia in batting and he was not out 73 from 48 balls.
