Pakistan in FInal of Twenty20 World Cup 2007

Pakistan has entered in to the final of Twenty20 world cup 2007. Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets. Throughout the match Pakistan could show sheer dominance over New Zealand. Pakistan played very well and it is good that their key players are performing consistently. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Their openers started very well putting on 50 runs in the opening pair. However, from then on, New Zealand started losing wickets at regular interval. So, at the end, they could throw a big total to Pakistan. After 20 overs New Zealand scored 143 runs losing 8 wickets. In the middle order, Ross Taylor scored innings highest 37 facing 23 balls. Opener Lou Vincent scored 28 and another opener Brendon McCullum 26 runs. Umar Gul came up with a match winning spell that propelled Pakistan to claim a convincing win over New Zealand. Umar Gul took three wickets conceding 15 runs in his four overs. Umar Gul won the man of the match award.

Pakistan openers also gave a good start to Pakistan making a 60 run partnership within 7.1 overs. However, there was a slight slip off in the middle order. However, Shoaib Malik and Misbah-ul-Haq guided Pakistan to win leaving 8 balls at hand. Opener Imran Nazir played a superb innings of 59 facing 41 balls in which he hit five over boundaries and three boundaries. Opener Mohammad Hafeez also played very well scoring 32 runs from just 21 balls. Shoaib Malik scored 26 runs and Misbah-ul-Haq scored 16 runs. So, Pakistan has got an excellent victory over New Zealand.

Pakistan will face the winner of India vs Australia match in the final of Twenty20 world cup 2007. The second semi final match between India and Australia will also take place today. Now, let us see who are going to face Pakistan in the final of the tournament.
