John Terry about England vs Russia Euro 2008 Qualifier Match

English and Russia are going to face each other in the qualifying match of Euro 2008 on 12 September. Russia is at this moment one point ahead of England and stands in the second position of the group E. There are four matches left for both England and Russia. So, the upcoming England vs Russia match will be very competitive. That is why, England captain John Terry has said that Russia will throw a big challenge for England and they need to overcome it.

As England is in the third position of point table, they are now under pressure. However, Terry is determined that his men will be bale to overcome the challenge as they did it in the past. England’s recent performance is impressive. England defeated Israel by 3-0 recently.

Peter Crouch is expected to come back to the team. He could not take part in the match against Israel. Peter Crouch will replace Emile Heskey. Two injured players Owen Hargreaves and Frank Lampard are not sure yet if they will play the match or not as they are not fit 100 percent.

AFP reported:
McLaren had been expected to name an unchanged side after learning on Monday that neither Owen Hargreaves or Frank Lampard had sufficiently recovered from thigh injuries to be risked against Russia.
But he hinted there could be changes to his line-up to neutralise what is expected to be a 3-5-1-1 Russian line-up.
"It is a different challenge, a tougher challenge," the former Middlesbrough boss said.

England is, no doubt, one of the best football playing countries in the world. So, if England can not qualify for the Euro 2008 then it will be a big blow for English team. England has to play very well in the last four matches without losing any point if they want to qualify for Euro 2008.
