India vs Scotland Twenty20 World Cup: Challenge for Dhoni

India will play their first match in Twenty20 world cup against Scotland in Kingsmead, Durban on 13 September 2007. Indian team is inexperienced in Twetny20 format of cricket. They have played only one international match in Twetny20. Moreover, most of their senior cricketers are absent in Twenty20 world cup 2007 squad. So, undoubtedly, there is a question mark in India’s performance in Twenty20 world cup 2007.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni captains Indian team in Twenty20 world cup 2007. It is needless to say that Dhoni is expected to play a big role for India during the Tweny20 world cup 2007. It is like a challenge for Dhoni.

The Hindu reported:
Dhoni on his debut as a captain, however, can draw inspiration from the one-off match in which India had defeated South Africa by six wickets at the Wanderers in December 2006.
India, placed alongside Pakistan and Scotland in Group D, will play its first match against the Scots on Thursday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is popular for his big hits. So, during the Twetny20 world cup, Indian fans will expect series of 4s and 6s from Dhoni. However, I think, experience will be a factor for Indian team because most of their cricketers are young and they have very little experience in international cricket. Though it is true that Scotland is one of the two non test playing competitors of Twenty20 world championship, they can come up with any big surprise against India. So, cricket fans can expect a competitive match.
