In Spanish language it is Supercopa de España but we in English know it as Super Cup. Super Cup is the season opener for Spanish Football and it is a prestigious trophy to win. In Super Cup 2007, Real Madrid is playing against Seville. Real Madrid was the champion club of La Liga 2006-07. On the other hand, Seville won the trophy of Copa del Rey. So, these two teams are going to play in Spanish Super Cup 2007.
Yesterday, we saw similar action in England. FA Community Shield 2007 was p[layed yesterday in Wembley and Manchester United won the trophy. There is one difference between FA Community Shield and Supercopa de España. In FA Community Shield, the clubs play against each other just once in a neutral venue. On the other hand, Spanish Super Cup is played on home and away basis. That means that two the clubs play against each other twice.
