Rugby World Cup 2007: Georgia Squad

You already know that Rugby World Cup 2007 is less than three weeks away. The tournament will be started from 7 September 2007 in France. Among the 20 participating countries there are some big names alongside some underdogs. Georgia is definitely such a team. Georgia first played in Rugby world cu p2003 for the first time. Though they could not win even a single match, their performance against mighty South Africa was impressive.

This time, Georgia has sent an experienced side. In 30 men squad, Coach Malkhaz Tcheishvili included 13 players who have the experience of playing in the last world cup including captain Ilia Zedginidze. Some other veteran members of the side are Pavle Jimsheladze, Malkhaz Urjukashvili, Akvsenti Giorgadze and Besiki Khamashuridze.

Georgia will have some advantages in France world cup as many of their players play in domestic tournaments in France. Georgia will play in Pool D where they will face host France, Argentina, Ireland and Namibia. Georgia will start their Rugby world cup mission on 11 September. However, Georgia fans will have a special look on 26 September, the day Georgia will face another underdog Namibia. So, this will a big chance for Georgia to record their first ever world cup match victory.
