English Premier League 2007-08 season is still in its early stage and we have seen some upsets within the last two weeks. All the big clubs have failed to perform very well. The only exceptions are Liverpool and Chelsea. Liverpool has been able to be in good form both in EPL and in Europe. On the other hand, this is a disastrous start for Derby County. They are at the bottom of the table and many Derby fans are worried whether their club will suffer relegation from EPL.
Last night, Liverpool defeated French Club Toulouse by 4-0 and this shows that Liverpool players are playing very well at this moment. In EPL, Liverpool has got 7 points from 3 matches so far. Liverpool is the fourth position in the EPL point table at this moment. Liverpool has defeated Aston Villa and Sunderland. These were away matches for Liverpool and so you can understand that Liverpool has perfect record in away matches so far this season. On the other hand, in this season, in EPL, Liverpool played just one match against league leader Chelsea and it was 1-1 draw.
For Derby County, it is just bad time all around. The supporters of this club are frustrated. To the players and the management of the club, there is just one thing in mind- survival. It is not even the end of August and Derby is already out of League Cup. Derby has just one point from 4 games. The worst thing is that Derby has lost to Birmingham at home by 1-2. So, you can see the condition of Derby. Actually, no Derby fan is expecting that Derby would win the match. The best they are expecting is that Derby will not suffer a humiliating defeat.
