Michael Ballack will definitely miss Germany's friendly against England next week, and coach Joachim Loew has called up two rookies from Bundesliga champion Stuttgart.

Ballack, the Chelsea midfielder and Germany captain, is still recovering from ankle surgery.

Loew included rookies Sami Khedira, a midfielder, and defender Serdar Tasci in the 20-man squad he announced Thursday.

Michael Ballack is an influential player of German team. His performance for Germany is unquestionable and he has helped his national team for many occasions to win.
