Blackburn Rovers is going to play against Arsenal on this Sunday (19 August 2007). This is a home game for Blackburn and away match for Arsenal. This match is important for both of the teams. It is not exactly a big game but it is a very important match for both of the teams. In this season, Arsenal has won their opening match in Premier League and also in UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. ON the other hand, Blackburn Rovers has won their first match in Premier League and in UEFA Cup. So, you see that Blackburn supporters have every right to feel toe to toe with Arsenal.

About the current form of both the teams BBC has written:

Rovers have enjoyed three victories in the Intertoto Cup and Uefa Cup qualifying, as well as last Saturday's 1-2 victory at Middlesbrough.

Arsenal are well placed for qualification to the Champions League group stages. They won the first leg of their qualifier 0-2 against Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic, adding to Sunday's 2-1 home win over Fulham when they trailed for all of 83 minutes, and still claimed all three points.

So, you see that the two teams are very close in this season. However, last season in EPL, it was an one sided matter. Arsenal won 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers while Arsenal won their home match by 6-2 against Blackburn. So, Arsenal players should feel more confident about this match.

Injury may be a worrying matter for both the teams. It is not sure if Benni McCarthy can play for Blackburn in the match. Arsenal will miss a number of players because of injury and they are: Tomas Rosicky, Emmanuel Eboue, Abou Diaby, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gilberto. However, Arsenal has a number of good players and Arsene Wenger might not need to be worried too much. Arsene Wenger is happy now that his club is doing well. At the beginning of the season, many experts wrote Arsenal off of any chance of winning trophy this season. Arsene Wenger does not agree with them and he feels that his players have become even stronger.

Wenger said:

"Everybody has written us off before the championship started and we want to show everybody we have a good chance to do it - but we have only played one game. We will learn more in 20 games."

If Eduardo da Silva is fit then it might be his first match in English Premier League. It will be interesting to see if Eduardo da Silva can fill the position of Henry.

About da Silva Goal.com wrote:

Many eyes will be on Eduardo Da Silva should he play, the replacement (if there is such a thing!) for Thierry Henry who Wenger moved to secure quickly in the summer after the departure of Henry to Barcelona. Eduardo is very different in terms of style to Henry but if he can be anywhere nearly as successful then Arsenal will be delighted.

Blackburn has impressive home record and Blackburn players have done great in their home ground for the last few matches. So, it will be a tough call for Arsenal players. They will surely want to have all 3 points.
