Solar Power Driven Mobile Phone from Hi-Tech Wealth in China

It was a long cherished dream of mine. Millions of cell phones are used in the world and the number of cell phone is only increasing not decreasing. So, it is a nightmare from environmental point of view. It is great to see that solar energy powered mobile phone has is going to come at last.
I have to admit that I did not expect it to come from China. Rather, I thought that the first solar powered cell phone would come from Japan or Korea as these two countries are really best when it comes to new innovations in mobile phone technology.

Hi-Tech Wealth is a famous company in China. Hi-Tech Wealth has come up with this plan. If you charge your mobile phone in sun for 1 hour then you can talk with it for 40 minutes- not a bad bargain at all?

China Daily reported:

Hi-Tech Wealth, a well-known telecommunication products supplier in China, claims its mobile phone is the world's first to use solar power to recharge its battery.

The company says a scale-like solar panel on the top side of the clamshell-designed phone can also be recharged by light from other sources including candles.

Hi-Tech Wealth says it has developed the most advanced solar power technology and owns eight patents and has applied for numerous others.

Many companies around the world are working on similar mobile phones but their products are still at the experimental stage, said an official with Hi-Tech Wealth.

Zhang Zhengyu, chairman of Hi-Tech Wealth, said the company began researching the use of light as an energy source in 2000 and has invested hundreds of millions of yuan.

The solar powered mobile phone has not hit the market yet and it will take perhaps some time. However, I feel very optimistic about it.

The solar powered mobile phone is a great inventory. Calculators with solar powered batteries have been invented some time ago already and now we'll be able to see the solar powered mobile phones. China has really clever scientists and should be proud of doing it the first in the world.
