Sania Reaches to the Semi-final of Tennis in Doha Asian Games 2006

Sania Mirza, the most talked tennis star of India, has showed some of her class in the way to reach in semi-final round in Doha Asian Games 2006 after winning two smashing victories without loosing any set. This 20 year old tennis sensation of India is the fourth seeded tennis player of this tournament. She is currently ranked 66 in the ranking of WTA.

Sania reached at quarter-final of the games defeating Korean Mi Yoo by two direct sets of 6-1, 6-4. She seemed very confident during the match and could turn some cheerful moment for the fans. Later on, she has also been given by the award. In the way to her reaching semi-final’, she also got another tremendous victory in her quarter final match against Suchanun Viratrasert of Thailand by another two-set victory.

Another important thing is that Sania got an overall popularity from the beginning of the tournament and fans become very excited whenever she gets a point. Though she is not the highest ranked player in the tournament, she has possibility to win the gold medal in Doha considering these kinds of things.
