Intel Faces Problem in Meeting Market Demand

Intel can not produce its new set of chip according to its demand existed in the market and it could be a good sign for a company but in a competitive market there is no chance to feel out of tension. Intel has lost its market share to it s rival company ‘Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)’ in the last month. I have read an article regarding this matter.

I am quoting some lines from the sites:

“Demand for new PCs spiked after the two microprocessor makers slashed prices for desktop chips in late July, but the sharp rise in purchases has caused component makers to scramble to keep up, said Sunny Han, director of marketing at Asustek Computer, the world's largest motherboard maker.”

Motherboard makes can give the actual situation regarding chip because they have to deal with chips too. An official Gigabyte said, “the shortage exists among several chip sets in the 965 family, citing the G965 chip set for mainstream desktop PCs, in particular. He declined to be named in this story”.

The shortage of Intel chip brought a boom in their selling. Richard Malinowski, general manager of Intel's chip set group, said, “The world's largest chip maker set aside two advanced chip plants to manufacture its new 965 chip set family and ensure a plentiful supply”.

Though Intel is confident in this matter, it would not be so easy to meet the market demand so early as it takes several weeks to produce a chip sets.
