India vs England Super Eight match of Twenty20 world cup 2007 will take place on the Sahara Stadium Kingsmead, Durban on 19 September. The match will be very important for both India and England. India has already lost their first match against New Zealand in Super Eight round. So, India is now under pressure. India has to win the last two matches of Super Eight in order to reach at the semi final of Twenty20 world cup 2007. India and England both are favorites in the competition. So, fans are expecting to see an interesting match between these two cricket powers of the world.
In the same way, England will also be under pressure as they also lost their first match of Super Eight stage against South Africa. Actually, England could not play well in their last group match as well. However, they started Twenty20 world cup 2007 tournament with a 50 run win over Zimbabwe. England looked very strong at that time. With the progress of the tournament, England is losing their pace and lost two back to back matches in the tournament. So, no doubt, they have to win last two matches of Super Eight round against New Zealand and India if they want to enter into the semi final round of Twenty20 world cup. After the 19 run defeat to South Africa, now England has to be determined to try their best to win the last two matches and qualify for the semi final round. However, England has to face New Zealand before facing India. So, India vs England match will be the last match for England in Super Stage. It seems to be a final for both India and England. The will remain in the competition and the loser will be out of the tournament. I think that India vs England match will bring huge excitement among the fans.
Indian players showed impressive performance against Pakistan in the group stage match. However, they could not continue their success against New Zealand. Actually, at one stage, India was in the right track to win the match. After scoring 76 runs in the opening partnership, it looked that India was going to win the match against New Zealand. However, the brilliant bowling of New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori, India could reach at 180 runs, 10 short to the New Zealand score. The irresponsible batting of middle order and lower order, India missed a good chance to win the match and set their first step to enter into the semi final round of Twenty20 world cup 2007. So, at this moment, for India, the last two matches of Super Eight stage are really very important. They have to win remaining two matches qualify for the semi final round of the tournament.
India’s last ICC World Cup performance was disastrous as they failed to enter into the super eight stage of the tournament. So, they had to face lots of criticisms from fans and cricket analysts at home. Now, this is a big chance for India to present with some impressive performances in Twnety20 world cup so that their fans get some opportunity to cheer on.
It is needless to say that India vs England will be an interesting match. India’s main problem is that some of their key players like Yuvraj Singh could not show any impressive performance yet in this competition. To tell the truth, England has some star players who are yet to shine in Twenty20 world cup. You can see it as an advantage for both the teams because those star performers who could not come up with any special performance in this tournament will be highly inspired to play their best and help their teams to win the crucial match. So, it is really very hard to say that who are going to play well in the India vs England match.
India’s Strength
India started the Twenty20 tournament with a memorable win over their rival Pakistan. Bowling was the main problem of Indian team before the start of the tournament. However, performance of Indian bowlers in the two matches is more or less satisfactory. Now, after the two matches, batting has become the main concern of the team. It seems that India is missing their three veteran batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.
