Regarding the launch of HTC Flyer’s Wi-Fi only version, Scott Anderson, the head of merchandising at Best Buy Mobile, said,
Over the past few months we've seen several new tablets enter the market, and we're especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive. We have worked hard to bring a large assortment of great tablets to Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and the HTC Flyer is a great example of that effort.
The 3G-enabled HTC Flyer was earlier unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February 2011 in Barcelona. The Wi-Fi only version would come up with the same features that were available in the 3G version.
HTC Flyer features a 7-inch display with multi-touch functionality and 1024x600 resolution, a single-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, 16GB eMMC memory with microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear-facing CMOS camera with autofocus for capturing videos and images, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, 4,000 mAh battery, and supports Adobe Flash. The device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
