Rugby World Cup 2007: Schedule of Canada

Rugby world 2007 is now less than a week away. Rugby world is the most prestigious tournament in the rugby world. So, participating in a rugby world cup is a dream to many players. Fans are always excited to see their stars playing in world cup. Rugby world cup 2007 will be held in France.

Canada is one of the 20 participating teams of Rugby world cup 2007. Canada is not a big name in the rugby world. They have participated in all the last five world cup tournaments. Their best world cup performance was in 1991 when they qualified for the quarter final round. In 2007 rugby world cup, Canada will play in Pool B where they have to face two times champion Australia, Wales, Fiji, and Japan. Australia should easily enter into the quarter final stage from Pool B. Canada has to face challenge from Wales and Fiji to achieve the second place in the pool. Two notable players- flanker Stan McKeen and teenage fly half Nathan Hirayama have been excluded from the squad. The youngest member of the squad is Nick Trenkel who is yet to debut for Canada. He is now 20. However, there are number of experienced players in the squad as well. Rod Snow, 37 year old, will play his fourth world cup in France. Moreover, second row Mike James will also play his fourth world cup whereas captain Morgan Williams and prop Jon Thiel will appear in France for their third world cup.
